What People Are Saying About SMT’s

School Assembly Show

Your performance was one of the very best I have seen in a school setting during my twenty-seven years in this business… I heartily recommend the Seattle Mime Theatre for school performances.

--Rick Bird, Principal, McLane Elementary School, Olympia, WA

Our Student body was spellbound as you wove your magical vignettes

--Lynda Tripp, Principal, Spruce Primary School, Lynnwood, WA

…their performance left staff and students in awe of their talents.  The students watched in amazement, and as we know, children this age have an attention span shorter than a Labrador puppy.  They sat for an entire hour totally engrossed in the program.

--Ernie Elton, Head Custodian, Mullenix Ridge Elementary, Port Orchard, WA

If I had to describe the performance in one word it would be ‘brilliant.’

--Ngaire Clark, Drama Specialist, Elk Plain School of Choice, Spanaway, WA

On October 27, 1995, we had the most refreshing, engaging experience of the year.  My Advanced Placement American Studies class was visited by Rick Davidson who shared with us Seattle Mime Theatre’s interpretation of Thurber’s “Secret Life of Walter Mitty.”  Every student was totally engaged in his presentation.  No one wanted to leave at the end of the period, and in fact, we extended our time together…

--Gayle Merkle, Capital High School, Olympia, WA

Our school came alive through your energy last Friday.  The rooms and corridors buzzed and jived as kids moved like monkeys, blew up bubble gum, and pulled on “ropes.”

--Sally Alexander, Librarian, Lakes Elementary, Lacey, WA

I will pass the work around – this is an assembly that shouldn’t be missed!!

--Sheila Keaton, Principal, St. Francis of Assisi School, Seahurst, WA

The presentation was outstanding!  This was by far the best assembly this school has had the occasion to present in my five years as principal of Calle Mayor.

--Marilou Ryder, Principal, Calle Mayor Middle School, Torrance, CA

As far as funding goes, you were worth every penny!  It was definitely one of the best assemblies we’ve ever had!

--Melinda Kasraie, View Ridge PTA Co-President, Seattle, WA

The students were absolutely spellbound by the mimes’ outstanding actions, movements, stories and improvisations.  The students were exposed to a high level professional acting in a way they could relate to and appreciate.

--Nancy Immel, 6th Grade Advisor, Harry S. Truman Middle School, Tacoma, WA

Our staff was able to build upon the skills you presented and reinforce skills they were working on in the classroom.  Your assembly blended effectively the joy of watching talented performers and served as a springboard for follow-up activities.

--Bruce Colley, Ordway Elementary, Bainbridge Island, WA

…the students and staff were captivated and enchanted by your tremendously talented performers.

--Linda Banchero, St. Monica School, Mercer Island, WA

This was among the finest, most professional, most entertaining yet educational groups we have had over the years at Arbor Heights.

--Bruce Fowler, Principal, Arbor Heights Elementary, Seattle, WA

Last Friday our 460 students took part in, enjoyed, and saw the finest school assembly we have had in my 11 years as principal.

--Edward L. Thompson, Principal, Captian Wilkes Elementary, Bainbridge Island, WA

The Seattle Mime Theatre was the perfect pick-me-up for a dull day in October.

--Ann Fessler, Counselor, Voyager Elementary, Gig Harbor, WA

The teachers and I rated this theater group as one of the most outstanding assembly programs we have had in years.

--Deannie Dunbar, Principal, Presidents Elementary, Arlington, WA

…we took a school-wide evaluation survey which all 700 students and 50 staff members completed.  Seattle Mime Theatre received the highest marks by all.  In fact, Seattle Mime Theatre scored almost twice as high as any other group… It was amazing to witness 700 middle school students completely captivated for an entire hour.  Their focus on SMT was so intense that a pin drop could have been heard.

--Mary McKenzie, Activity Coordinator, Issaquah Middle School, Issaquah, WA
